In 2010, Andrew Jenks couch-surfed between 12 unique individuals' homes to get a sense of what it's like to be an animal activist, a homeless young person or anyone else whose story strays a bit off the beaten path. The impact was immediate, and the lessons learned stretched across the board, but when the young filmmaker signed on for a second season of "World Of Jenks," he knew he wanted to do things differently. In the interview below, he describes exactly why he lived with D-Real, Chad and Kaylin off and on for an entire year, and why he felt so sure they'd resonate with viewers.

"I could easily go document people who are fame-hungry," Jenks says in the clip. "The three that I'm following, I almost had to convince to be on a show, and I think that says a lot about who they are." His main hope for viewers is that when they watch someone like Chad, they absorb his struggles with a disability as something separate from his identity. Chad might have been tripped up while tying his shoes on tonight's episode, but at his core, he's just a guy who's anxious about graduating from school -- and that is something many of you can relate to.
